Whitsunday Regional Council has selected Efficiency Leaders to automate its accounts payable.
RapidAP is an out-of-the-box AP automation product that is quick to implement and highly configurable to the specific needs of an organisation. The council has opted for RapidAP to provide:
- Connection to the Peppol network to receive and process eInvoices
- Optical Character Recognition to extract data from PDF (or equivalent) invoices
- Compliance checks to validate the payables data
- Streamlined vendor onboarding process
- Integration with TechnologyOne CiA.
Dan Bennett, Executive Director at Efficiency Leaders says, “The Whitsundays have chosen to modernise, digitalise and automate their accounts payable. This will significantly reduce invoice processing time and costs, delivering better outcomes for ratepayers as well as for suppliers.”
“eInvoicing is the best practice way for trading partners to transact. While connection to the Peppol network is not currently mandated for local government, forward-thinking councils are building it into their technology roadmap. Peppol is already in force at the federal government level and in some state governments,” he added.
Whitsunday Regional Council engaged Efficiency Leaders through Local Buy, who provide compliant, efficient, and cost-effective procurement services to councils and government entities across Queensland, Tasmania, and Northern Territory. Efficiency Leaders is an approved supplier on Local Buy’s Vendor Panel for ICT Solutions and Services.
RapidAP is also on the ATO’s Peppol Capabilities and Associated Services Panel with EL’s certified Peppol access point provider ValtaTech. This means RapidAP is available to all levels of government without requiring a lengthy tender process.
“eInvoicing and AP automation bring significant value to our economy in efficiency gains and productivity benefits from straight-through processing and on-time payments. We’re delighted to welcome Whitsunday Regional Council and continue to build our presence in local government,” says Dan.
